Early Years children took part in a Pudsey biscuit making activity to raise money for Children in Need. They explored early mathematics skills such as sharing, counting, measuring and problem solving.

The children in the early years unit have been learning about Dinosaurs! We have read books such as as Stomp, Stomp, Big Roars, Here come the Dinosaurs! and Harry and the bucketful of dinosaurs, as well as some non-fiction books. We have had great fun creating a muddy swamp for the dinosaur role-play using soil, and natural resources. We have been palaeontologists and have been digging for and brushing to find dinosaur fossils hidden in the sand! Our challenge was to read the clue card, find and then make sets of the bones!

In Maths we have been learning about shapes and patterns. We have been exploring the properties of shapes by making shape pictures. We have been copying and continuing repeating patterns as well as creating some of our own.
